FADSP LogoDSP's Making a Difference: Jeanne Lopez

As part of DSP Recognition Week, FADSP is pleased to recognize direct support professionals (DSPs) who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they serve.  Jeanne Lopez is one of those DSPs.

Jeanne has been working for the Key Training Center for 19 years. She has worked in the Adult Day Training (ADT) program where she has been a strong advocate for the clients in supporting them in their daily activities and goals. Jeanne is always coming up with interesting activities to help enrich their lives with exciting activities and community involvement including Crystal River Archaeological Park, pontoon rides, the Veteran's Parade, library, Animal Control volunteer activities, museums, and shows.

Jeanne has shown support of the agency in her many years of service. She serves as the lead instructor at the Inverness campus where she is available for training new employees and helping with issues when the supervisor is not available. Jeanne runs the forklift, drives a bus, and supervises the cleaning crew. When something needs to be done at the Inverness ADT, Jeanne is always one of the first ones to step up to the challenge.

Jeanne takes care of the individuals she serves and helps them whenever needed. She reports concerns promptly to ensure that the individuals are well taken care of. Jeanne is a great employee of the Key Training Center and no matter how long she has been at the Center, she continues to improve what she does to make Key Training Center a great place for the individuals she assists.

Jeanne completes an annual assessment with the individuals she works with, making sure she gets their true feelings about the services they need and receive.  She takes the time to find personal goals that are meaningful to the individuals. Jeanne keeps a watch out for the individuals she serves and reports any concerns so they can be addressed as soon as possible.  Many individuals are not able to express their problems, but Jeanne notices little changes that indicate something is not quite right.

Jeanne is a strong advocate for the individuals served. She assures fairness, equality, and maintains confidentiality.  She is respectful in her dealings with the individuals in all she does to assist them in their daily lives.

Thank you, Jeanne for your continued service to the individuals served at Key Training Center!
