DSP's Making a Difference: Mie Pierre Jean
As part of DSP Recognition Week, FADSP is pleased to recognize Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they serve. Mie Pierre Jean is one of those DSPs.
Mie Pierre Jean has been working at Florida Mentor for over eight months as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). He always goes above and beyond in his role as a Direct Support Professional. Mie Pierre listens to the individuals when they talk to him and assists them with solving any concerns they bring to him.
Mie Pierre is always willing to step in and fill in where needed to ensure the individuals are receiving the care they deserve. He treats all of the individuals he supports with respect and dignity. Mie Pierre ensures they get choices and get to do things they enjoy. Overall, he makes sure that all individuals are happy and healthy.
Mie Pierre listens to the individuals in the group home he supports and has conversations with them. When they come to him, he keeps the conversation confidential and does not go around talking about their conversation around other individuals in the home. He treats all the individuals with respect and dignity and ensures that they are getting choices to do things they enjoy. If he notices something that could use improvement that would benefit the individuals, he reaches out to management to advocate for them.
In his short tenure with Mentor, he has already been nominated for Caregiver of the Week recognition.
Thank you, Mie Pierre, for your ongoing service to the individuals served at Florida Mentor!
