As part of DSP Recognition Week, FADSP is pleased to recognize Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people they serve. Anthony Holloway is one of those DSPs.

Anthony Holloway has been working at MacDonald Training Center (MTC) for the last twenty-four years as a Direct Support Professional. During his tenure, Anthony has consistently embodied MTC’s mission “to empower individuals with disabilities to lead the lives they choose.” He has taken on various roles, each with the same unwavering commitment to advocacy, dignity, and compassion. His calm demeanor and gentle communication style create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals feel truly seen and supported. Anthony’s ability to form meaningful connections is a testament to his empathy and professionalism.

Anthony is a tireless advocate for the individuals served, always ensuring their voices are heard and their choices are respected. Whether he’s championing their goals or celebrating their achievements, Anthony leads with purpose and heart. Anthony is often the first to arrive and the last to leave. His dedication is matched by his creativity in the classroom, his endless patience, and his constant kindness. His reliability, consistency, and willingness to go above and beyond make him a role model for his peers. He exemplifies everything a Direct Support Professional should be - and more. Anthony doesn’t just support lives; he helps shape them for the better.

Anthony places the individuals he supports at the center of every decision and action. He ensures that each individual’s unique goals, needs, and preferences guide his work, helping them shape their own paths toward success. Anthony fosters emotional security and builds trust, always encouraging a positive atmosphere that promotes learning, personal growth, and overall well-being.   

Anthony is deeply trusted by both the individuals supported and staff because he respects and maintains the confidentiality of everyone he supports. He carefully protects personal information and always honors the privacy of those in his care, creating a safe space for individuals to express themselves without fear of judgment or exposure. Anthony is a tireless advocate for the individuals he serves. He ensures that every voice is heard, and their choices are respected. With kindness and empathy, Anthony treats every individual with dignity and respect. He fosters an inclusive environment where every person’s opinion and contributions matter. Anthony builds meaningful connections with the individuals he supports, their families, and his colleagues. His professionalism and empathy allow him to create lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect, reinforcing a strong sense of community.

Whether he is championing an individual’s goals or celebrating their achievements, Anthony consistently supports their right to make choices about their own lives. He empowers individuals to pursue their aspirations and fosters independence, always standing by as a guide and encourager. Anthony is committed to ensuring that the individuals he supports are not only heard but uplifted.
