On January 10, 2007, a meeting was held with the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) staff, ARC/Florida, and Florida ARF to discuss findings from VR reviews that have resulted in disqualified employment placements, including supported employment placements, and requests for payback from VR providers as a result of the disqualifications. The APD/VR Employment Work Group held its quarterly meeting in Orlando, FL at the Florida Mall Hotel on December 12. Grant Opportunity: Self-Employment for Adults and Youth with Disabilities Research and Technical Assistance
The U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy, announces the availability of up to $5 million to fund both a national technical assistance and research cooperative agreement and multiple sub-national cooperative agreements for pilot projects to investigate, develop and validate systems models likely to increase self-employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
